RN – Progressive Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care or high-risk discharge planning
• Provide patient and family education by assessing readiness to learn, developmental level, and utilizing appropriate patient education materials
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe and secure hospital environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience in a progressive care, step-down, or intermediate care unit setting
