Summary This position is located in the Office of Court Administration, Office of the Convening Authority/Director, Office of Military Commissions. The Office of Military Commissions (OMC) is under the direction of the Convening Authority for Military Commissions. The office is located in Arlington, VA with other facilities located in the National Capital Region (NCR), and at the U.S. Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Learn more about this agency Duties Help Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
- Ability to manage all administrative functions of court reporting including production of a verbatim record of trial.
- The incumbent must provide work support guidance and implement training programs.
- Execute critical office operations by maintaining stringent security information for the court.
- Coordinate with senior level attorneys and judges regarding the production and authentication of records in each trial.
- Identify laws, regulations, opinions, and other guidance that may be applicable to pre-trial, and post-trial matters.

- This position may require you to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays and/or mandatory overtime.
- This position may require you to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)/SAP components security clearance.
- PCS expenses may be authorized in accordance with regulatory requirements
- This position may require up to 20% occasional travel away from your normal duty station for official business on military or commercial aircraft, including frequent travel to Guantanamo Bay under expeditionary living and working conditions.
- Manage administrative functions related to court reporting such as preparing a verbatim record of trial and evidence handling; and
- Prepare legal depositions and other legal documents; and
- Use court reporting automation systems such as stenotype machines, voice dictation machines, computers, and software to record court proceedings.
