Boiler Operator Lead (S)

Salary Range: $37,377-65,408 Salary Grade: NC07

This is a position at Piedmont Correctional Institution located in Salisbury, N.C. (Rowan County), which is a Medium male prison facility housing 800 offenders. Employee will serve as operator and shift supervisor in a steam plant starting and shutting down boilers, monitoring various operational readings and making adjustments as needed. Position will report to facility Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Job Duties:

• Directing and training staff
• System Monitoring/routine repairs
• Water Analysis and Chemical Treatment
• Safety, Testing, and Compliance
• Record Keeping/log steam output, fuel consumption, and operational readings

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Working knowledge of the operation of boilers and related equipment.
• Working knowledge of the maintenance requirements of boilers and related equipment.
• Physical strength sufficient to perform heavy physical tasks on a periodic basis.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week)

Veterans' and National Guard Preference

Minimum Education and Experience

Two years of experience in the operation and routine maintenance of large, complex steam boilers; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
