Veterinary Technician
New Rochelle Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician at our hospital, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of animals and make a difference in their lives every day. Our hospital provides comprehensive veterinary services including wellness exams, vaccinations, surgery, and dental care for pets.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with surgical preparation
- Provide care for small animals
- Monitor anesthesia during procedures
- Implement Fear Free techniques to reduce stress in patients
- Perform preventive care treatments
Required Skills:
- Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician
- Proficient in animal care techniques
- Skilled in IV catheterization and medication administration
- Ability to assist with anesthesia, catheterization, and surgery
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with discharge planning
- Knowledge of lab procedures
- Background in critical care and triage
- Ability to take X-rays and maintain medical records
Salary and Benefits:
Minimum salary starting at $20.00 per hour, with opportunities for growth and advancement.
