Rates: $17.25–$19.67 As a Direct Support Professional and Personal Care Assistant at Devereux, you will work with a dedicated team that shares your passion for helping individuals in need. You will assist with daily living activities, including health and hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, recreation, and documentation such as shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress reports. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (diplomas obtained outside the U.S. must be evaluated) At least one year of human services experience working with children, adolescents, or adults (preferred) Minimum age of 21 years Valid driver’s license Excellent written and verbal communication skills Empathetic, team‑oriented, energetic, and creative Knowledge of behavior management theories and positive reinforcement Strong passion for helping individuals with special needs Physical Requirements Significant walking, sitting, and standing; some lifting (up to 75–100 lbs.) or management of resistance techniques; intermittent use of computers and office equipment; occasional driving of Devereux vehicles; ability to achieve 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches. Work Environment Regularly works inside adequately lighted and ventilated areas with occasional temperature fluctuations; use of protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial masks, protective eyewear, and gowns; possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens; physical involvement in Safe and Positive Approaches.
