Position Overview Special Education Teacher Assistant - Transition Program (TC) – Job ID: 16727. Location: Transition Center, Oswego Community Unit School District 308. The role supports the academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students with specialized needs under the direction of Special Education Teachers. Responsibilities Assist students with specialized needs to achieve their goals and reach their highest potential. Support academic, behavioral, and health/hygiene needs of students as directed by Special Education Teachers. Apply general written and verbal guidance to specific work situations. Help lift and move up to thirty pounds independently and assist with lifting and moving up to fifty pounds when required. Qualifications Desire to assist students with specialized needs. Knowledge of or ability to obtain knowledge of best practices for working with children and young adults with specialized needs. Skill in applying written and verbal guidance to specific work situations. Ability to lift and move up to thirty pounds independently or to assist with lifting and moving up to fifty pounds. Benefits and Salary Competitive pay at $21.25 per hour with a typical thirty‑five hour work week.
