Registered Nurse - Cardiac Surgery Specialty

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

12 shifts per month, including 4 weekend shifts.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with strong telemetry skills and experience in titrating vasoactive medications to join our Cardiac Surgery Specialty unit. You will provide exceptional patient care, perform pre-operative preparations for cardiovascular surgeries, and assist with procedures such as chest tube and arterial line removals. You will work in a supportive environment with a mobility team and central monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients using GE Monitors and central monitor station.
• Administer vasoactive medications, including levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, and dobutamine.
• Perform pre-operative preparations for cardiovascular surgeries.
• Assist in chest tube and arterial line management.
• Complete bedside shift reports and update MyCare board each shift.
• Floating on a rotation basis with Travelers as priority.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have strong telemetry skills.
• Experience titrating vasoactive medications.
• Certified in ACLS and BLS.
• Preferred: Experience with chest tubes, arterial lines, and Flo-Tracs.
