Field Service Technician

Field Service TechnicianWorking under the direction of the Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for performing troubleshooting, repairs and operations/maintenance checks on fleet and customer equipment while operating in or outside the shop environment. Technicians will be required to communicate with customers and must be able to operate and navigate various digital reporting tools.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperates a company service truck safely and autonomouslyMeet deadlines established by the Service ManagerPerform timely and accurate diagnostics and repairs on various equipment systems with little to no supervision:Heavy Construction Equipment hydraulic systemsHeavy Construction Equipment mechanical systemsHeavy Construction Equipment electrical systemsAsphalt EquipmentConcrete EquipmentCommunicate work required/performed verbally and using digital service support platforms.Communicate work required/performed with customers.Request parts using service support tools as directed by the Service Manager and ensures accuracy.Practice safe work habits in accordance with Closner shop standardsUse and maintain shop tools and equipment according to company procedures and safety standards.Maintain a reasonably clean workspace.Develop more junior technicians.Complete required paperwork efficiently and timelyAttend factory and other training as specified by the supervisor.Demonstrate the ability and willingness to continuously improve trade skill sets.Utilizes company credit card and/or parts truck in a responsible manner if requiredQualificationsHigh School Diploma5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining construction equipment and tools.Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.Deep knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagramsHighly knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematicsWelding or pneumatic experience is a must.Experience in the infrastructure industry preferred.Excellent knowledge of the equipment systemsWilling to work overtime on during week and on weekends/ holidays, as neededMust be able to travel within 150+ miles radiusSome overnight stay may be requiredExercise a strong work ethic and integrityPerform well in a team environmentAccept accountability for actions takenProvide all basic hand tools required to perform duties alone and without shop supportHigh level of customer serviceGood written and verbal communication skillsPhysical and Worksite EnvironmentThe physical and worksite demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
