Clinical Data Manager - Duke Cancer Institute

Overview The Duke Cancer Institute (DCI) Thoracic Clinical Research Program seeks an experienced Clinical Data Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute complex oncology trials involving Investigational Products. The role partners with Principal Investigators, sponsors, and partners to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate multiple complex oncology clinical trials from start‑up through closeout. Serve as key resource for data quality, regulatory compliance, participant safety, and research ethics. Manage clinical trial data using Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, identify discrepancies, and resolve data issues. Maintain compliance with institutional, regulatory, and protocol requirements, including regulatory binders and participant logging. Document and report adverse events, serve in site initiation, monitoring, and close‑out visits. Support recruitment, screening, consent, enrollment, and scheduling. Participate in financial activities, budget oversight, and development of COI, DSMP, and RDSP documentation. Mentor staff, coordinate educational needs, and contribute to scientific presentations. Communicate clearly with sponsors, investigators, and staff, escalating risks and deviations. Ensure data security and manage data provenance. Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Completion of an Associate’s degree. At least two years of relevant clinical or research experience. Completion of the DOCR North Carolina state‑approved Clinical Research Apprenticeship Program may substitute for one year of required experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Experience in clinical research, especially oncology or complex trials. Experience with EDC systems. Knowledge of clinical trial regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and compliance. Other Requirements Maintain required Duke University and project training and certifications. Adhere to institutional policies, SOPs, regulations, and protocol requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Benefits Competitive salary range: USD $59,829.00 to USD $99,960.00.
