Art and Design Adjunct - Studio Art
North Carolina Central University
Primary Purpose Of Position The NCCU Department of Art and Design has an immediate need for an adjunct in Studio Art (e.g.: Painting and Drawing). Inspired art and design educators will teach up to 3 courses within their areas of specialization, as listed above. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree, professional experience, as well as a passion for teaching. This adjunct professor will prepare students for careers in the field through in‑person lecture and studio‑based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting‑edge creative approaches. For the Fall 2026 semester, creative individuals are needed to teach the following in‑person classes: Painting I: Painting and Color Theory (3 credit hours) Monday/Wednesday 5:00 pm – 7:45 pm Introduction to Art History (Art History for non‑majors, 2 credit hours) Tuesday/Thursday 5:15 pm – 6:05 pm Opportunities to teach may be available in the Spring 2027 semester.
