Job Summary

The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, sanitation, and general maintenance of assigned facilities including the Vet School. This role ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for building occupants by maintaining consistent communication and responding promptly to reasonable requests, both verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Maintain open and effective communication with building occupants to address concerns and service requests.
• Safety: Ensure all custodial activities comply with safety procedures and regulations.
• Training & Employee Development: Train, coach, and mentor custodial staff to promote skill development and quality performance.
• Scheduling & Attendance: Create and manage staff schedules and monitor attendance to ensure adequate coverage.
• Supervision & Direction: Assign tasks, provide daily direction, and monitor employee performance.
• Supply Management: Order, issue, and maintain inventory of custodial supplies and equipment.
• Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness standards and operational expectations are met.
• Key Control: Distribute, track, and collect facility keys as required.
• Administrative Duties: Complete reports, records, and other administrative tasks.
• Progressive Counseling: Administer corrective action in accordance with organizational policies.
• Performance Management: Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Hiring & Staffing: Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for 8 or more hours per day
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and reach overhead areas
• Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions
• Regular use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and custodial equipment
