Benefits Verification Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and positive benefit verification person with experience to provide support to our complete revenue cycle. In this role you will work collaboratively with our Billing and credentialing team to support our financial operations. Primary responsibilities: • Verify patient benefits with the insurance companies to ensure that patient has benefits for services at our office. • Check to make sure that therapies are covered under the patient insurance plan and obtain direction on completing a prior authorization if required. • Collections and reviews all patient insurance information needed to complete the benefit verification. • Identifies any restriction and details on how to expedite patient access. • Following up and clarifying any information that is not clear to other staff members • Reports any reimbursement trends/delays to Manager. • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned. • Ability to work in fast-paced office environment. • Intake insurance clearance for new pts Requirements: • Minimum Education • High School Diploma or Equivalent required • Associate degree in business, healthcare administration or related field preferred • 1 year of experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Specific experience in medical office, benefit verification, claims processing or customer service at an insurance company. • Fundamental understanding of key payers including Medicare and private payers • Full cycle knowledge of the patient accounting role • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the staff, and acts within the chain of command, utilizing positive verbal and non-verbal skills • Competent in delivering safe and effective patient care within legal limits of license and certifications and Certus policies and procedures • Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients, family, staff, and physicians. • Employee Choice Health Plans – 3 plans tailored to fit your life. • Dental & Vision Plan Options. • STD and LTD • Retirement – Certus offers 401K plan with a robust employer match. • PTO #J-18808-Ljbffr
