The Y serves as an anchor in the community offering programs and services encompassing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Location: YMCA at KIPP DC (various locations) Compensation: $18.40 - $23.00 per hour Schedule: Part-Time | Mornings/Evening Hours | School Year The YMCA at KIPP DC is hiring dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program . This is a meaningful opportunity to positively impact children’s lives in a supportive and collaborative afterschool environment. What You’ll Do Lead and supervise engaging, developmentally appropriate activities Design lesson plans and classroom routines that spark curiosity and learning Mentor and support Group Leaders in their daily responsibilities Communicate clearly and professionally with families and leadership Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior to ensure a thriving environment Build meaningful, trusting relationships with young children What You Bring 2+ years of experience working with children ages 3–10 in licensed or educational settings High school diploma/GED required ; CDA or early childhood coursework preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain) Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for children of all abilities Schedule Monday–Friday Before Care: 6:30am–8:00am (optional) After Care: 2:30pm–6:30pm KIPP DC Site Locations: We offer the following benefits: Competitive compensation Free Y membership 403(b) savings plan Exciting and collaborative work environment The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is an equal opportunity employer and values a range of perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds.
