Public Policy Manager

The QTI Group is proud to partner with The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce to hire their next Public Policy Manager . Reporting to the Vice President, the Public Policy Manager will play a key role in guiding the organization’s advocacy efforts and will work across all levels of government, translating complex policy proposals into clear strategies that guide the Chamber’s agenda.

Responsibilities:

• Track and analyze legislative and regulatory activity at the local, state, and federal levels.
• Translate complex policy proposals into clear, actionable strategies that advance organizational priorities.
• Develop and execute public policy and political strategies from analysis through advocacy implementation.
• Attend and staff relevant committees, boards, commissions, and policy-related meetings.
• Meet with elected officials, business leaders, and external partners to advance advocacy efforts.
• Build subject‑matter expertise across priority issue areas such as workforce development, housing, transportation, talent attraction, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
• Create advocacy content for internal and external communications platforms.
• Organize and staff key internal committees related to public policy and political strategy.
• Manage political action tools, including endorsement processes and elections‑related activities.
• Lead advocacy programming and events that engage members on policy matters.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and leadership to align advocacy efforts with organizational strategy

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, or a related field preferred
• Strong interest in public policy, politics, and advocacy work
• Experience or involvement in government, political campaigns, policy research, or related settings strongly preferred
• Ability to objectively navigate political environments and work across ideological perspectives
• Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate clearly to varied audiences
• Organized, self‑directed, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
