Lead Software Engineer

Salary: $65,000 - 102,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring at least 7+ years of professional experience developing web-based applications, with proven success coordinating engineering teams.
• We have a track record of leading software teams to design, build, and launch commercial-grade products.
• We are highly proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and modern web service development.
• We have strong hands-on experience with SAP BTP/CAP, especially Fiori-based development using SAPUI5, oData, and CAP CDS.
• We understand software design patterns, enterprise architecture, and data structures in depth.
• We have extensive experience building web APIs and working with API-first approaches such as Swagger, REST, or GraphQL.
• We are familiar with SAP HANA DB and at least one additional relational database management system.
• We are skilled with development and DevOps tooling such as GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef.
• We understand deployment environments, application configuration, and change management principles.
• We have exposure to major cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
• We have strong experience with authentication and authorization standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML; third-party login experience is a plus.
• We are eligible to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

• We lead, mentor, and coordinate a high-performing development team to build and scale robust commercial software.
• We take a hands-on role across the full product lifecycle, including design, prototyping, development, deployment, and continuous iteration.
• We work closely with our Team Architect to decompose complex roadmap features into technical components and bring them to life.
• We champion coding best practices, automated testing, and code quality to deliver scalable and resilient microservices.
• We partner with Product Managers, QA, UX, and other engineering stakeholders to align on scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• We analyze, investigate, and resolve production issues, customer requests, and inquiries, escalating when appropriate.
• We assess the severity and impact of production incidents and remain accountable until resolution.
• We organize, prioritize, and resolve multiple production challenges from different sources, delegating work across the team to maximize throughput.
• We balance technical excellence with business needs, ensuring timely delivery without sacrificing system integrity.
• We foster a collaborative team culture and drive continuous improvement in development practices and technical execution.

We are hiring an experienced and dynamic Lead Software Engineer to guide our SAP BTP / CAP Java / Fiori engineering team. In this role, we build multiple high-impact services from the ground up within the SAP Business Network and contribute throughout the full product development and deployment lifecycle, from early ideation through delivery and ongoing refinement. We work in close partnership with our Team Architect and Product Manager to translate complex roadmap items into modular technical designs and deliver them successfully.
