The Retail Assistant Manager plays a vital role in overseeing daily store operations and supporting strategic planning efforts. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, this position focuses on managing a medium team of 6 to 15 employees, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales performance. The role includes responsibilities for staff development, inventory control, and loss prevention while utilizing standard retail software tools.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a medium team of 6-15 employees
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet targets
- Manage inventory control and coordinate stock replenishment
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues efficiently
- Conduct staff training and development programs
- Oversee visual merchandising to optimize store presentation
- Handle cash transactions and ensure accuracy
- Implement loss prevention measures to safeguard assets
- Utilize POS and inventory software for daily operations
- Participate in occasional travel for training purposes
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in retail management
- Strong customer service and team leadership skills
- Experience with inventory management
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Strong time management skills
