Consultant, OpenShift

Overview RedHat Consulting is looking for a Consultant to support clients in delivering solutions that solve business challenges through hands‑on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, knowledge of open source, and a business‑focused mindset. Responsibilities Support customers in building enterprise technology infrastructures that are scalable, optimally managed, and adaptable to emerging technologies using RedHat solutions. Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies. Travel frequently (20‑30 weeks per year) across North America to work with leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers. Qualifications Experience delivering an implementation as part of a project team based on architectural design. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a technical project, including collaborating on timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation. Ability to understand stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work. Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders. Desire to mentor. Technical Skills Base‑level experience using and configuring Linux systems, and an understanding of configuration as code, preferably RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes on GKE, EKS, or AKS. Intermediate technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies such as OpenStack, RedHat Virtualization, VMwarevSphere, MicrosoftHyper‑V, AmazonWebServices (AWS), IBMCloud, Google Cloud, or MicrosoftAzure. Experience with scripting languages (YAML, Python, etc.) and understanding of the advantages of automation in a complex environment. Some experience using or configuring cloud technologies, including container management and/or orchestration. Preferred but Not Required Previous exposure to or practical experience with OpenShift. Intermediate‑level understanding of core IT systems and concepts such as infrastructure, networking, storage, and security. After Joining RedHat During the first year you will progress through the following milestones: At 2 months, acquire skills to build technical solutions integrated with existing enterprise systems, learn consulting skills, and gain exposure to RedHat Customer Success. Within 6 months, deliver a project by collaborating on successful delivery, developing customer use cases into project plans, and expanding knowledge and network. Within 12 months, demonstrate technical leadership by successfully implementing complex enterprise solutions and sharing lessons learned. Compensation Salary range: $106,100.00 – $169,640.00. Actual offer based on qualifications. Position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, or equity. Remote‑US location may affect the range.
