Emergency Veterinarian Training Program (2026/ 2027 Graduates)

Emergency Clinician Training Program Peak Paws Advanced Veterinary Hospital invites 2026/2027 veterinary graduates to join our emergency clinician training program. The program offers intensive, hands‑on experience in a 24/7 emergency service within a full‑service rehabilitation practice. Core Objectives Deliver excellent client education, ensuring owners understand each case and treatment options with personalized discharge instructions. Use frequent feedback from staff and clients for continual improvement. Develop effective working relationships and engage in professional discussion of cases. Responsibilities Work 36–40 hours per week with rotating overnight, swing, and day shifts to meet training goals. Assist the ER Medical Director during patient care and participate in triage of multiple patients simultaneously. Perform emergency procedures, surgery, ultrasound, radiology interpretation, and other modalities as required. Provide clear client education during visits and manage discharge instructions. Engage in continuing education, including the FVECC Certificate program, and develop competence in diagnostic imaging and laboratory result interpretation. Follow any other job‑related instructions from authorized personnel. Qualifications Graduation expected in 2026 or 2027 from an accredited veterinary school. Commitment to learning in a private‑practice environment and willingness to work nights, weekends, and variable shifts. Valid license in good standing from the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board and Drug Enforcement Administration. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and maintain a positive attitude. Physical ability to restrain dogs and cats, lift pets up to 50 pounds, and assist with heavier loads. Benefits and Compensation Compensation will graduate over a 2‑year commitment, progressing to full ER clinician salary with planned increases every 3–6 months.
