Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment requiring high-volume ED and triage experience with Cerner EMR proficiency.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00
- Cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD state license or compact)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Travel experience required
- Triage experience required (hardstop)
- Must have worked within the past 8 months in an ED setting with at least 45,600 visits per year (125/day)
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
- Flu vaccine required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Candidates with prior MedStar employment must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days off per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
