Financial Services Supervisor 1

Position Information Under the General supervision of the Financial Operations Manager (FOM), provide administration support to Faculty, Researchers, Staff, and students within the Department of Physics &Astronomy. Maintain fiscal integrity for non-C&G funds and accounts, ensuring funds are in auditable/reportable condition. Assist with monthly ledger reconciliation, procard compliance, travel compliance, purchasing compliance, assist purchasing with complex dept/lab purchases to ensure compliance, equipment management, and miscellaneous duties as assigned. Responsible for supervision and backup of purchasing assistant and travel assistant desk. All applicants selected for interview will be required to complete a skills assessment. The full salary range for the Financial Services Supervisor is $70,600.00 - $125,400.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $70,600.00 - $75,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Requirements Educational Requirements Degree Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Experience Requirements Experience 4 - 7 years of related experience. Experience Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Minimum Requirements Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems. Proficiency in use of spreadsheet and database software. Interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, ability to multi-task effectively in a high volume environment, organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures. Ability to manage changing priorities, and manage staff time and efforts accordingly. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. Preferred Qualifications Ability to perform routine financial analysis and reporting. Ability to thrive in a busy, high-volume, and deadline driven work environment that requires coordination of multiple activities and the judgment and flexibility to reprioritize to accommodate emergency requests. Detail oriented.
