Senior Project Engineer

Position Summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead new product development and engineering projects from concept through production. This role serves as the technical lead for cross-functional initiatives, ensuring project objectives, timelines, and design requirements are met while delivering high-quality, manufacturable products.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with hands-on mechanical design expertise and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead the planning, execution, and successful completion of engineering projects.
• Develop and manage project schedules, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional activities.
• Coordinate efforts across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regulatory teams.
• Provide regular project updates and communicate milestones to key stakeholders.

Product Design & Development

• Design and develop complex mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company design control procedures.
• Utilize advanced CAD functionality, including design tables, surfacing, and complex assemblies.
• Drive product development activities from concept through commercialization.

Engineering Analysis

• Perform design feasibility studies using engineering calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Evaluate product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Identify technical risks and implement innovative engineering solutions.

Manufacturing & Design Transfer

• Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for efficient production and assembly.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Perform GD&T and tolerance stack-up analyses on interfacing components and assemblies.
• Support product launches, process improvements, and manufacturing implementation efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
• Self-motivated professional capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Project.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of engineering and project leadership experience.
• Formal training or demonstrated expertise in CAD design and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant industry experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within medical device, manufacturing, product development, or regulated industries.
• Demonstrated expertise in GD&T, tolerance analysis, engineering drawings, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience leading engineering projects from concept through production release.
• Knowledge of design controls, validation processes, and product lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to successfully lead cross-functional project teams and deliver projects on schedule.

Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
