.Net developer

We are seeking a technical consultant to support the decommissioning of system, including associated applications, databases, and infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for performing system inventory, dependency mapping, and impact analysis across integrated systems. Duties include data extraction, archival and/or migration in accordance with retention policies, along with data validation and reconciliation.


The consultant will identify and decommission or redirect interfaces, APIs, and batch processes, and retire application services, database instances, middleware, and supporting infrastructure. This includes handling third-party components, access removal, and service termination. The role also requires development of decommissioning plans, runbooks, and validation documentation, and execution of testing and controlled system shutdown in coordination with stakeholders.



Decommissioning (40%)
The candidate will decommission a Java-based application, including associated services, databases, and infrastructure. Responsibilities include system inventory, dependency mapping, and impact analysis across integrations. The candidate will decommission application code, APIs, and batch processes, and perform data extraction, archival, and/or migration per retention policies, with validation to ensure data integrity. All application services, middleware, infrastructure, and third-party components must be retired in a controlled manner.



Application Development (60%)
The candidate will design, develop, and maintain applications using ASP.NET, Web Forms, Entity Framework (EF), and Web APIs. Responsibilities include building new web services, enhancing existing applications, supporting system integrations, and performing testing and deployment. The role also includes troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ongoing technical support.
The candidate should also be able to work with newer technologies as needed, including .NET Core / .NET 6+, RESTful APIs, microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern database technologies (SQL Server, NoSQL, MongoDB).



Deliverables
Deliverables include decommissioning plans, runbooks, validation reports, technical design documents, code artifacts, test results, and deployment documentation.



MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered


The selected candidate must have a minimum of 4 years' experience

Backend Technologies :
o C#: Must have strong experience in C# for backend development, including writing clean, maintainable, and performant code.
o SP.NET MVC: Proven experience in ASP.NET MVC for building scalable, maintainable web applications.
o .NET Core: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with .NET Core for building robust, high-performance, cross-platform applications.

Entity Framework (EF):
o Experience in EF Core or EF 6 for object-relational mapping (ORM).
o Experience in Code First or Database First approaches with EF.
o Proficient in writing LINQ queries to interact with databases.
o Strong understanding of EF migrations, optimizing EF queries, and managing complex data relationships.
o SQL Server 2019: Must have experience in designing databases, writing optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and handling database performance tuning in SQL Server 2019.
o Web Services:
o RESTful APIs: Experience in designing and consuming REST APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API.
o SOAP Web Services: Hands-on experience in working with SOAP web services, WSDL, and XML-based services.

Frontend Technologies :
o HTML/CSS: Solid knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 for responsive web design and UI development.
o JavaScript: Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), with the ability to write clean, efficient code for dynamic web functionality.
o ngular 8: In-depth experience in developing Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular 8, including knowledge of components, directives, services, and routing.

Reporting & Data Presentation :
o SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services): Hands-on experience with SSRS to create and deploy interactive, parameterized reports integrated within a web application.
o Crystal Reports: Strong experience in designing and generating reports using Crystal Reports and embedding them into applications.

Software Design & Architecture :
o MVC Architecture: Solid understanding of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture for web application development.
o Design Patterns: Experience with common design patterns like Repository Pattern, Factory Pattern, and Singleton Pattern.
o Unit Testing & TDD: Experience with Unit Testing using frameworks such as XUnit, MSTest, or NUnit. Familiar with Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to ensure high code quality.

Version Control & CI/CD :
o Git: Proficiency in using Git for version control and collaboration in a team-based environment.
o CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

Security :
o uthentication/Authorization: Experience in implementing user authentication and authorization, including OAuth, JWT (JSON Web Tokens), and role-based access control (RBAC) in a web application.



Soft Skills:
o Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and non-technical team members.
o Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and devise optimal solutions.



Additional Preferred (Non-Mandatory) Skills:

• Microservices Architecture: Experience in designing and developing microservices-based applications.
• Performance Optimization: Proven track record of optimizing both frontend and backend performance, including database query optimization.

Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes): Familiarity with containerizing applications and deploying them using Docker and Kubernetes for scaling.
