Registration Specialist

Job Summary Responsible for registering all patients receiving services from Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), including gathering and entering information to complete registration, obtaining signatures, and collecting applicable patient liability on accounts. This role ensures that all patient data is accurately captured, insurance eligibility is verified, and necessary documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner. Key Responsibilities Register patients according to hospital policies and procedures. Obtain signatures of patients and/or guarantors for all required forms. Document appropriate logs pertaining to the assigned registration area regarding patient name and arrival time. Effectively communicate eligibility, benefits, and estimated patient portion upon insurance verification. Document the account upon registration and record all collection efforts taken. Acknowledge patients and family members presenting to the registration areas promptly and professionally. Maintain all information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Certifications: None specified.
