Food Service Worker
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Independence Mental Health Institute (IMHI) is seeking a Food Service Worker to join our team! This is a full-time position with opportunity for advancement, growth, and development and a weekly schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts, alternating weekends.
As a member of the Dietary Department of the Institute, the Food Service Worker performs manual food service work in the serving of meals and the cleaning of dietary items and areas and performs related work as required. Staff in this position assist in setting up food service lines, hot food carts, or special trays and assist in serving food in the tray line, living units, or wards.
Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.
IMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services, including individualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education. Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling, and activities therapies might be included as well. IMHI is in Independence, Iowa, a city of approximately 6,000, located in scenic Northeast Iowa.
