Real Estate Program Manager

The real estate program manager will work closely with the director of external affairs and other housing development team members to advance our team's mission.Our Housing Development Team is dedicated to sustaining an equitable housing development ecosystem to meet the needs of our communities across the state, with a focus on:Training emerging developers to engage in community-focused real estate developmentRemoving barriers to housing developmentConnecting resources and aligning agency programsThis work will fall under the following categories:The implementation of CEDAM's Real Estate Development Boot Camp program, the Affordable Housing Forum, and other housing-focused trainingsBuilding relationships with sponsors, speakers, and other industry leadersManaging events from start to finish: Curriculum development, budget development, coordinating speakers, event logistics (in coordination with CEDAM's events team), and providing support to participants throughout and beyond the eventDeveloping a mechanism to track Boot Camp participant success beyond the trainingFacilitate trainings and sessions as experience allowsMonitoring and supporting key affordable housing policy and program updates.Working with the policy and communications team to update our members and partners about legislative and state agency news that affects the affordable housing fieldManaging a coalition of CEDAM members who are engaged with the LIHTC QAPLeading or participating in coalitions as opportunities arise or are identifiedExploring ways to expand training and/or technical assistance offered by CEDAM.Assess gaps in CEDAM's ability to meet training and technical assistance requestsAssess the interest and needs of existing and potential sponsors and funders to expand current programsCreate proposals to meet identified needsCoordinate with third parties to develop training and resources that meet the needs of our fieldSupporting the Michigan State Housing Development Authority's (MSHDA) 15 Regional Housing Partnerships (RHP) as they implement customized housing action plans.Understanding the Michigan Statewide Housing Plan (Plan) and the RHP structureWorking with MSHDA, RHP Leads and members, and the CEDAM network in each region to identify and address organizational capacity and policy obstacles to Plan implementationConducting and coordinating trainings and facilitated discussions for the RHPsSupporting contractual relationships with MSHDA and subcontractorsWorking with our partners at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to distribute predevelopment assistance funds to Redevelopment Ready Certified (RRC) communitiesSupport the predevelopment assistance program through project management, contract execution, and technical support as neededCross-Organization SupportCEDAM is a collaborative work environment that values teamwork. Candidates may be based anywhere in Michigan but must be willing and able to travel to Lansing and other areas of the state. Travel is reimbursed at the IRS rate (except for travel to the CEDAM office), but applicants do not need to own a car to be considered.COMPENSATIONThis position falls within pay grade 4.
