Performance Analyst II (1805) – Controller's Office Full‑time, permanent exempt position; salary $125,528‑$152,646 per year. About the Role The Controller’s Office is the City’s chief financial officer. The City Performance team, part of the City Services Auditor, works with city departments on transportation, public health, human services, homelessness, capital planning, and public safety. The performance analyst supports data‑driven decision making and process improvement. Responsibilities Plan and facilitate in‑person and virtual meetings with project teams and department partners. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data, design dashboards, and produce clear reports and presentations. Conduct research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement to answer policy questions and develop actionable recommendations. Identify and design operational improvements using Lean and other continuous improvement methods. Develop scopes of work, manage consultant contracts, and produce high‑quality deliverables. Facilitate workshops and working groups to foster collaboration among city stakeholders. Communicate results to the public and city stakeholders via reports, dashboards, and presentations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, statistics, social sciences, or a related field. At least two (2) years of experience performing complex policy analysis, project management, public administration, or consulting in a local‑government setting. Master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. Strong communication and organizational skills and proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, R, PowerBI, ArcGIS). Experience in continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and performance management. Schedule and Location Hybrid schedule: four days in person at City Hall and one day remote per week.
