QC Chemist

Are you a quality specialist with a passion for sensory evaluation and analytical chemistry? We are seeking a skilled technical professional with direct fragrance or flavor industry experience to join our team.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between science and scent-overseeing raw material and finished product quality, operating advanced analytical instruments, and collaborating closely with our Perfumery, Quality, and Regulatory teams.

responsibilities:



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

• Performs QC evaluation for incoming and outgoing materials
• Maintain QC data files and documentation
• Evaluate pre-shipped materials with perfumery to validate quality received
• Manage inventory evolution of SAP materials through monthly checks and re-evaluations
• Performs other incidental and related QC duties as required and assigned

QC Responsibilities:

• Daily odor, color, analytical property testing, and analytical (GC-MS) evaluation for materials
• Daily operation of SAP QM module (i.e., Input QC evaluation results, issue usage decision, create QM Records, etc.) for materials
• Perform experiments and testing to evaluate off-spec materials and eliminate waste
• Perform daily maintenance and calibration for the GC-MS instrument as required
• Issue ISO 9001 documentation for non-conforming materials/incidents
• Write and/or update SOP/SAP, ISO9000 procedures, and documents for processes used as needed
• Assist with Rudoph Instrument runs, data collection, and data management
• Provide support for lab incoming raw materials and verification of lab batches
• Performs other incidental and related QC duties as required and assigned

 
qualifications:



Education: We strongly prefer candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.

Years of Experience: We are seeking candidates with 3-5+ years of direct Quality Control experience within the fragrance, flavor, or fragrance raw materials industry. Experience in the fragrance industry is a key requirement for this role.
