Commission Based Role | Uncapped Tiered Structure (2%-7% by Product Tier)

Engagement: 1099 Independent Contractor

Location: Remote - Field Sales | Midwest & Mid-Atlantic

We've been AI-first since December 2023. In this role, AI can support account research and pitch preparation, while you retain full control over how you plan and manage your territory.

You'll prospect, develop, and close retail accounts across your territory, partnering directly with our Retail General Manager to drive regional growth.

Role Overview

Puffy, a Top 5 US mattress brand with over $1 billion in D2C e-commerce sales, is engaging an Independent Sales Representative to open and grow retail bedding accounts across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic, owning prospecting approach, account priorities, travel cadence, and territory strategy, working directly with the Director of Retail.

The engagement exists to convert existing retailer relationships into open, ordering Puffy accounts, building the territory coverage and account base that let retail growth compound in regions where the brand is not yet on the floor.

1. Uncapped Earnings, and You Control the Mix

The tier structure pays on what you sell, and nothing sits between your effort and the number.

• Commission runs 7% on Royal, Monarch, and Legacy, 5% on Lux, 3% on bundles, and 2% on entry products, accessories, frames, and bases. Floor models sold at full price mirror the mattress tier rates. There is no cap and no ceiling.
• Push premium and the rate follows. Open more accounts and the base widens.

Work directly with Forbes Council Member leadership. Gain exposure to strategic decisions driving a billion-dollar brand's retail expansion.

You decide how to prospect, plan travel and prioritize accounts. Puffy provides product information, pricing resources, sales materials and account support. You run your business, and the territory you build is the one you keep growing into.

1. Become the Rep Buyers Take the Meeting For

In most companies, a rep carries a line card and hopes the brand does the work. Here, you're the person a buyer calls back, because you brought them a Top 5 mattress brand their customers are already searching for and then made the floor perform. When a retailer decides which brand gets the space, your case is the reason they move. You'll build a territory and a set of buyer relationships that compound, and the discipline to carry an account from first pitch through assortment, training, and reorder.

What You'll Need:

• Proven experience selling to mattress retailers with established relationships across smaller and larger bedding retailers
• Strong drive to exceed targets
• Demonstrated consultative selling capabilities
• Competency in Microsoft Excel

Good-to-Have:

• Existing relationships with retailers in the Midwest or Mid-Atlantic regions
• Experience representing complementary product lines (accessories, adjustable bases)
• Established territory coverage and travel infrastructure

Your Commission Structure

Commission:

• Premium Products (Royal, Monarch, Legacy): 7%
• Mid-Tier (Lux): 5%
• Bundles: 3%
• Entry Products, Accessories, Frames & Bases: 2%
• Floor models at full price mirror mattress tier rates
