Derby Dinner Playhouse is looking for a dependable, hardworking Janitor / Janitorial Team Member to help keep our dinner theater, public areas, restrooms, offices, and back-of-house spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for our guests and employees.
This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the details, and enjoys working independently in a busy entertainment and hospitality environment.
Position Responsibilities- Cleaning and sanitizing public areas, restrooms, hallways, offices, and employee areas
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and general cleaning
- Emptying trash throughout the building
- Cleaning and restocking restrooms
- Cleaning glass, mirrors, doors, and other high-touch surfaces
- Maintaining clean and presentable guest areas before, during, and after performances
- Cleaning spills and addressing other housekeeping needs as they arise
- Following proper procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Reporting maintenance, safety, or facility issues to management
- Assisting with deep-cleaning projects as needed
- Maintaining cleanliness in both front-of-house and back-of-house areas
- Following all company health, safety, sanitation, and workplace policies
- Performing other cleaning and janitorial duties as assigned
- Have previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or general cleaning experience
- Be dependable and punctual
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Be comfortable working around guests and other employees
- Have the ability to follow cleaning procedures and safety instructions
- Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
- Lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment (up to 40 lbs)
- Push and pull cleaning equipment
- Perform repetitive cleaning tasks
- Work around cleaning chemicals while following proper safety procedures
