Data Engineer - INTL

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines within a Microsoft Azure-first environment. This role supports data powering a missioncritical mobile application used across the transportation supply chain industry, where reliability, performance, and data accuracy are essential.
The ideal candidate brings deep SQL expertise, handson experience with Azure Data Factory, and strong working knowledge of core Azure services such as Logic Apps, Function Apps, and App Services. You will collaborate closely with application, platform, and business teams to ensure data is delivered securely and reliably to downstream systems.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain endtoend data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to support highavailability production workloads.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Integrate and orchestrate data workflows using Azure Logic Apps and Azure Functions for eventdriven and automated processing.
Support and integrate data solutions with Azure App Services and backend APIs used by mobile and enterprise applications.
Ensure data quality, monitoring, error handling, and observability for pipelines supporting missioncritical mobile applications.
Collaborate with application developers, product teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
Implement security, governance, and best practices across Azure services (RBAC, managed identities, secure connections).
Troubleshoot production issues and participate in oncall or support rotations as needed for critical systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement of data architecture, performance optimization, and Azure cost efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar datafocused role.
- Ability to go onsite in Bangalore 12 days per month
- Expertlevel SQL skills, including query optimization and complex transformations.
- Strong handson experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) in production environments.
- Proven experience working in a heavy Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Working knowledge of:

Azure Logic Apps
Azure Function Apps
Azure App Services
- Experience supporting productiongrade, businesscritical applications.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data integration patterns, and cloud data architectures.
- Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work in fastpaced, highavailability environments.
