About Nscale At Nscale, we are building the infrastructure for the AI revolution. Nscale is developing cutting-edge, sovereign generative AI solutions powered by a new generation of high-performance, sustainable data centres and GPUs built specifically for AI workloads. The rapid growth of artificial intelligence is driving unprecedented global demand for compute and GPU infrastructure. Positioned at the heart of this transformation, Nscale is delivering the platforms that will enable the next decade of innovation. Working closely with the world’s most advanced AI technology providers — including Microsoft and NVIDIA — Nscale integrates next-generation compute hardware and GPU clusters across both partner and self-delivered facilities. This is a unique opportunity to join Nscale’s journey, play a pivotal role in delivering transformative AI infrastructure, and help shape a company designed to scale rapidly across North America, Europe, and beyond. About the Role We are seeking a Material Controller to lead receiving, inventory management, and material coordination for the Monarch Compute Campus construction site. With hundreds of millions of dollars of generators, switchgear, transformers, cooling equipment, and IT infrastructure flowing into Mason County, disciplined material control is essential to keeping construction on schedule. Based on-site in Point Pleasant, you will own the receiving, warehousing, tracking, and issue of materials and equipment for the Monarch build, coordinating closely with EPC contractors, logistics providers, and Nscale’s construction and engineering teams. What You’ll be Doing Receiving & Inspection Manage all material and equipment receiving activities at the Monarch site. Coordinate physical receipt, documentation, and inspection of incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and quality requirements. Manage non-conformance reports, damage claims, and discrepancy resolution with vendors and logistics providers. Inventory & Warehouse Management Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP and project material tracking systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Procore). Manage on-site laydown yards, warehousing, and controlled storage for high-value and sensitive items. Conduct cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations. Issue, Coordination & Logistics Issue materials and equipment to construction trades and EPC contractors in accordance with project schedule and work fronts. Coordinate just-in-time deliveries for critical-path items including Caterpillar generators, Powell switchgear, and major mechanical and electrical equipment. Partner with site planning and construction leadership to anticipate material needs and prevent stoppages. Documentation, Systems & Compliance Maintain complete and auditable records for all material transactions — critical to project finance, insurance, tax, and warranty claims. Partner with the Document Controller to ensure all certificates, mill test reports, and OEM documentation are correctly archived. Support customs, tax, and import compliance for any imported equipment. Continuous Improvement & Local Workforce Development Continuously improve material control processes, layouts, and tooling. Help build and develop a local material control team, providing on-the-job training to West Virginia hires and apprentices. About You 5+ years of experience in material control, warehousing, or site logistics on large industrial, power, oil & gas, or data center construction projects. Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and project tools such as Procore. Working knowledge of construction equipment receiving, preservation, and warranty management. Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working at pace in a dynamic construction environment. Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with trades, contractors, and project leadership. Able and willing to be on‑site full‑time in Point Pleasant, WV. Nice to Have OSHA 10/30 certification. Forklift and material handling certifications. Why This Role Matters The Monarch Compute Campus is Nscale’s flagship North American AI factory: a 2,250+ acre hyperscale campus in Mason County, West Virginia, and the first state‑certified AI microgrid district in the United States. At full build‑out, Monarch is engineered to deliver multi‑gigawatt, off‑grid power to support the world’s most demanding AI training and inference workloads, anchored by an MOU with Microsoft for 1.35 GW of capacity using NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs. Phase 1 — a 2.16 GW natural gas‑fired facility comprising three H‑shaped data center buildings and 864 Caterpillar reciprocating natural gas engines — is targeted for initial operation in early 2027. Monarch represents a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to build mission‑critical AI infrastructure in close partnership with Caterpillar, Babcock & Wilcox, Powell Industries, and the State of West Virginia.
