The Transportation Manager supervises daily transportation activities and personnel to ensure functions are performed according to our standards and guidelines. You will work from Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM with the ability to be flexible on work hours/shifts. You will: * Manage a cohesive, collaborative team, including supervisors, dispatchers, clerks, routers, and drivers * Maximize the use of our transportation options: box trucks, tractors, and trailers * Creates and manages Driver Qualification (DQ) files * Manages Department of Transportation (DOT) audits * Establish delivery routes that are cost-effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines and ensure all drivers comply with company, federal, state, and local laws and regulations * Maintain exceptional customer service standards, quality, and satisfaction * Utilize Roadnet application to ensure delivery costs are held to the company-expected run rates * Optimize routing schedules while strongly emphasizing driver safety You have: * High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience * 2+ years of distribution, logistics, transportation, or related work experience * Ability to create, manage, and calculate routes * Experience with DQ file compliance * Knowledge of the Chicago Area and Wisconsin * Proficiency in Excel and Word and experience with RoadNet is a plus * Union environment experience is a big plus
