A clinical pharmacy opportunity is available for an Infectious Diseases Pharmacist specializing in optimizing antimicrobial therapies and stewardship programs. This full-time direct hire role is based in Sterling Heights, MI, offering the chance to provide expert pharmaceutical care within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver primary and consultative pharmacy services focused on infectious diseases to enhance patient care and drug utilization.
- Participate in clinical research, medication order review, pharmacokinetic analysis, and patient care consultation rounds.
- Manage antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, including antibiotic selection, dosing optimization, IV-to-PO conversions, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, microbiology, infection prevention, and nursing teams.
- Develop clinical guidelines, educational materials, and staff training programs.
- Oversee pharmacy staff activities and contribute to medication use evaluations and adverse drug reaction monitoring.
- Provide education and precept pharmacy students and residents in clinical settings.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with PGY-1 residency; PGY-2 Infectious Diseases training and/or Board Certification in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy (BCIDP) preferred.
- One to two years of clinical pharmacy practice experience in a healthcare setting.
- Registered Pharmacist with Controlled Substance licensure in Michigan (or ability to obtain within three months).
- Strong background in microbiology, pharmacokinetics, and infectious disease pharmacotherapy.
- Proven ability to lead antimicrobial stewardship programs and interpret complex microbiology data.
- Sterling Heights, Michigan (day shift)
