Electrical Engineer II – Plymouth, MN – HybridJoin the world's largest HVAC company, named by Forbes as one of America's Best-In-State Employers 2025!Daikin Applied is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to research and develop functional specifications, technical designs, and support for the controls hardware, transformers, filters, VFDs and motors within the Daikin Applied Chiller products.Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!Location: Plymouth, MN, HybridYour Responsibilities:Prepare specifications for power electronic equipment to be used on Chiller equipmentPrepare test and qualification plans for power electronic equipmentReview test data from power electronic equipment to evaluate suitability and performanceSupport cross-functional meetings to review project progressSupport corrective actions to solve quality problemsSupport activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operation testing conform to UL safety certificationsWork directly with the subassemblies of the electrical equipment supporting controls products.Design electrical motors, control motors, electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, domestic and internal purposesDesign test control apparatus and equipment, and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing productsSupport activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirementsSupport operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field and internal installationsUse computer assisted engineering and design software and simulation to perform engineering tasksYour Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or related fieldMinimum of 3 years of power electronic experience required in power design, power distribution, VFD's, electric and control motors. 2+ years working in an Agile development environmentWork visa sponsorship is not available for this positionYour Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the HVAC industry4+ years of power electronic experienceYour Benefits:Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:Multiple medical insurance plan options + dental and vision insurance401K retirement plan with employer matchPaid time off and company paid holidaysPaid sick time in accordance with the federal, state and local lawTuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous serviceThe typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,200 - $124,300 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
