Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Lafayette, IN Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Lafayette, Indiana Facility: Franciscan Health Lafayette East Health System: SCP Health - Locums Coverage Period: Jul 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Emergency Medicine shifts Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 50,000 annual ED visits FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 33-bed Emergency Department with 3 trauma bays and 13 cardiac-monitor beds Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center Specialty Backup Available: ENT, Orthopedics, GYN Support Staff Available: 36 hours/day NP/PA coverage, Scribe support provided REQUIRED PROCEDURES Moderate Sedation JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board certified - ABEM/AOBEM or current ABMS-recognized specialty with at least five years continuous full time experience in high volume (>30,000 visits per year) emergency department Licenses: Active unrestricted IN Medical License DEA / CDS: Active IN State Controlled Substance, DEA w/ IN address & schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 Certifications: BLS Experience: EM residency graduates within the past 12 months or IM with five years continuous full time experience in high volume (>30,000 visits per year) emergency department Other Qualifications: Flu (within current flu season), TB (past 12 months) or Chest X-Ray with positive TB, COVID vaccination, Documentation of case logs for past 2 years, Completed CME Attestation Form DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide emergency medical care in a 33-bed department with 50,000 annual visits. Manage patients in trauma bays and specialty care rooms. Collaborate with NP/PA staff and utilize scribe support. Perform moderate sedation procedures as required. Maintain accurate case logs and clinical documentation.
