Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting detailed patient assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans focused on specific recovery goals.
• Managing the full scope of therapeutic care for assigned patients, coordinating closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Designing and executing treatment interventions that align with the established plan of care, employing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Instructing patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and the proper use of assistive devices, enhancing their engagement in the rehabilitation process.
• Evaluating and reassessing patients' therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional statuses, adjusting care plans accordingly to meet evolving patient needs.
• Prioritizing your caseload, effectively managing your time, and coordinating staff assignments to maintain workflow and support team collaboration.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will encompass a diverse patient population, including adults and children undergoing orthopedic treatment. You will have the opportunity to work with patients facing a variety of conditions, ranging from post-surgical recovery to chronic pain management, ensuring that care is tailored to their unique circumstances and recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New York.
• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent education.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• While no prior experience is required, a strong desire to learn and enhance patient care practices is essential.

Preferred Experience

Though not mandatory, previous experience working with diverse patient populations or in rehabilitation settings is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and rehabilitation tracking software will be advantageous, facilitating efficient documentation and monitoring of patient progress.
