Low Voltage Technician

Overview Cal-Tex Systems is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work on exciting commercial, educational, and enterprise projects—installing the critical infrastructure that keeps businesses connected and secure. Whether you are an experienced tech looking for a better environment or a hands-on individual ready to learn a valuable trade, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities Installation: Pull, route, support, and terminate low-voltage infrastructure cabling in various commercial settings. System Setup: Assist in the installation and physical mounting of security cameras, access control hardware, and audiovisual components. Pathways & Support: Install cable trays, J-hooks, conduits, and support structures according to project blueprints and industry standards. Testing & Troubleshooting: Assist with testing connectivity and labeling cables to ensure clean, certified compliance. Safety & Professionalism: Maintain a safe, clean work site and represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and site managers. Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. A strong work ethic, punctuality, and a willingness to learn on the job. Preferred Skills & Experience (A Major Plus): Structured Cabling: Experience routing and dressing voice/data cables (Cat6). Fiber Optics: Knowledge of installing, terminating, or splicing fiber optic backbones (e.g., OM3/OM4). Physical Security: Hands-on experience with Security Cameras (IP/Analog) and Access Control Systems (maglocks, card readers, door stations, patient safety/wander management systems).
