Schedule: Overnight shift, typically Monday– Thursday, 6:00 PM – 4:00 AM. Overview The Facilities Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and to provide excellent service to clients at all times. Primary Responsibilities Crush all cardboard that the night crew has discarded during the night’s production. Empty all garbage cans within the warehouse facility. Sweep up all debris in aisles, walkways, and pick modules. Clean guard rails and pole barriers quarterly. Run the scrubber daily to keep the dust down within the warehouse facility. Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming; strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as instructed. Service, clean, and supply restrooms within the facility. Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow‑melting chemicals as needed. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation. Operate a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) to move, store, or stage product in or on storage racks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience. Physical Demands Physical demands include a considerable amount of walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping. Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds. Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jack, and battery change station. Work may involve repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions. Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak‑season schedules may be required.
