In this role, you will work as part of a team to assess a wide range of electrical and software related challenges faced by clients ranging from early-stage startups through to fortune 100 companies. You will be expected to combine knowledge of electrical engineering and a range of investigative analysis techniques with robust subject-specific scientific expertise, to implement high-value solutions to complex technical problems. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across an extremely wide cross-section of industry, and will interact with a variety of client contacts ranging from managers, engineers, legal staff, and business leaders. You will be expected to demonstrate continued professional growth, both in technical areas relevant to your expertise, and in business skills essential to providing effective consulting services. You will be responsible for Performing engineering analyses related to ongoing Exponent work including circuit analysis, design reviews, safety compliance investigations, code reviews, and reliability and failure analyses related to electrical/electronic systems and components as well as to computer systems and associated networksUsing deep expertise in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field to develop solutions to a wide array of challenging technical problemsPreparing technical proposals, pursuing business development, and supervising and managing laboratory testingPresenting technical results and solutions to a diverse audience through verbal, written, and interactive communicationPreparing technical proposals, pursuing business developments, and expanding the range of software-related services Exponent provides to clients You will have the following skills and qualifications Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related fieldTechnical hands-on laboratory experience in the areas of electronics, power systems, semiconductor fabrication and characterization, optics, renewable energy or related fieldsAn understanding of investigative analysis for troubleshooting technical issues and solving technical challengesExperience with at least one common programming language such as Python, C/C++, Java, MATLAB, or similarExcellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teamsAbility to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industryInterest in learning and working with a wide range of devices and systems that span a broad array of consumer and industrial applications, including both hardware and software elements of these systemsAbility to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice and its consulting servicesPresently legally authorized to work in the United States. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
