DIRECTOR OF MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Full-time Location: Minneapolis, MN Experience: Minimum 15 years Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s Degree preferred Licensing: Professional Registration as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Other Requirements: Relocation assistance, bonus, travel Job Description This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all activities, projects, and personnel within the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering disciplines. The role involves serving as a direct report to discipline leaders, acting as a liaison for engineering services, and interacting with various stakeholders including Market Sector Leaders, Project Managers, clients, consultants, and vendors. Responsibilities Determine personnel needs based on workload and project requirements, and participate in staffing processes. Mentor discipline personnel through training and career development. Build work plans for personnel development and conduct performance evaluations. Administer compensation, promotions, and transfers. Review engineering deliverables for technical quality and compliance. Lead discipline meetings and design reviews. Discuss project objectives, requirements, and budgets with clients and staff. Establish design standards and review quality assurance processes. Participate in community events and professional development activities. Support publication efforts and research within disciplines. Oversee writing and editing of program documents and specifications. Conduct site inspections and ensure project compliance. Review code compliance with authorities having jurisdiction. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Effective communication and leadership skills. Ability to lead and promote teamwork among engineering professionals. Extensive knowledge of building codes and standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
