Accounting Clerk Ft Walton Beach, FL

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting experience and be comfortable handling a variety of accounting functions in a fast-paced environment. This position will support the accounting department with accounts payable, project billing, bank reconciliations, travel expense reporting, and employee travel coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate employee business travel, including travel agency setup, booking flights, hotels, rental cars, and other travel arrangements in accordance with company travel policies.
• Process and maintain Accounts Payable (A/P), including invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor communication.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Review, process, and reconcile employee expense reports and travel reimbursements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with account reconciliations.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
• Process monthly Contract Billings assigned to you, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contract terms, including communicating with customers and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and maintain smooth contract operations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a professional environment is preferred.
• An associate degree or higher is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with JAMIS Prime ERP.
• Experience working in a Government Contracting environment.
• Familiarity with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR)
• Familiarity with FAR, DCAA, or government contract accounting requirements is a plus.
