We're hiring a Sprinkler Fitter Foreman to lead the buildout of our fire sprinkler service and installation capability from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll be running install and service work directly alongside the crew, especially in the early stages, while also standing up the preventive maintenance program, processes, and standards that don't currently exist. Ideal candidates have strong hands-on fire protection experience and want the opportunity to shape a department rather than step into one that's already built someone comfortable wearing both the tool belt and the foreman hat as the work and the team grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and directly perform installation, modification, and repair of wet, dry, pre-action, and standpipe sprinkler systems, including piping (steel, CPVC), hangers, valves, and heads expect significant hands-on fieldwork, particularly in the first phase as the department ramps up
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for fire sprinkler systems from the ground up, including inspection schedules, documentation standards, and service protocols, since no formal PM program currently exists
  • Read and interpret fire protection blueprints, hydraulic calculations, and specs to plan layout and installation sequencing
  • Coordinate installation schedule and sequencing with other trades on-site (mechanical, electrical, sheet metal)
  • Inspect and test completed work to ensure it meets NFPA standards, local fire code, and passes AHJ (authority having jurisdiction) inspections
  • Respond to service calls and occasional emergency repairs on existing sprinkler systems
  • Build out crew capacity over time hire, train, and mentor sprinkler fitters and apprentices as workload grows
  • Establish jobsite safety practices and documentation standards for the department
  • Track crew hours, material usage, and job progress; communicate delays or issues to the Service Manager or Project Manager
  • Liaise with facility managers, general contractors, and inspectors on active job sites

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5-8+ years of hands-on fire sprinkler installation experience, including prior lead or foreman-level responsibility
  • Ability to read and work from fire protection blueprints and hydraulic calculations
  • Comfort operating in a build-out environment willing to do the hands-on work personally before there's a full crew or established processes in place
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites

Preferred:

  • Prior experience standing up a service line, PM program, or department from scratch
  • Backflow prevention certification
  • Experience with both new installation and service/repair work on existing systems
