Pay Rate: $19 - $20/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support, including patient preparation, diagnostic testing, phlebotomy, medication reconciliation, scheduling, and medical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

• One approved Medical Assistant certification: CMA-NHA, CMA-NCCT, CMA-AAMA, RMA-AMT, RMA-NAHP, AMCA, or NCMA.

• Experience with vital signs, EKG, PFT, audiometry, and Titmus testing.

• Experience with UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and laboratory testing.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, instruments, supplies, and equipment.

• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, and document findings.

• Perform EKGs, PFTs, audiometry, and Titmus testing as required.

• Perform UDS, BAT, phlebotomy, and laboratory testing as assigned.

• Obtain and document patient histories and perform patient screening.

• Prepare patients for and assist with procedures, treatments, and minor office surgeries.

• Perform medication reconciliation and related medication processes.

• Screen and follow up on test results as directed.

• Maintain accurate patient records and protect patient confidentiality.

• Schedule appointments, admissions, and procedures and enter patient information into electronic systems.

• Assist with collections, billing procedures, and computerized office systems.

• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

• Provide patients with health maintenance and disease-prevention instructions.

• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
