Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Title: Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 6-Month Contract with Possible Extension

Pay Rate: $34 $36/hr W2

Type: W2 Contract

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and Inspection Checklists.
Define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) parameters and establish Q-gates across manufacturing processes.
Monitor and analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) and identify opportunities to improve product quality and production efficiency.
Investigate customer complaints, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective Actions.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams during customer audits, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and UL, CSA, and ISO audits.
Perform Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) analysis to identify opportunities for defect reduction and cost savings.
Map manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience in Manufacturing Quality Engineering or a similar manufacturing quality role.
Experience developing Quality Plans, Control Plans, and Inspection Checklists.
Strong knowledge of CTQ, Q-gates, and First Pass Yield (FPY).
Experience with customer complaint investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Actions.
Experience supporting FAT, customer, UL, CSA, or ISO audits.
Knowledge of COPQ analysis and continuous/process improvement.
Experience with manufacturing process mapping and automation/process optimization.
Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills.
