Job Summary:

American Textile Maintenance is seeking a Senior Industrial Maintenance Mechanic specializing in the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of industrial production and processing equipment. This is a hands-on equipment maintenance position, not a facilities/building maintenance role. 

The Senior Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is a highly skilled, hands-on member of the Engineering Department responsible for independently troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial laundry and production equipment. The position supports equipment reliability, production uptime, preventive maintenance, and rapid recovery from equipment failures in a fast-paced industrial environment. 

• This position requires advanced mechanical troubleshooting ability along with working knowledge of industrial electrical controls, PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, boilers/steam systems, and related production equipment. 

• The Senior Industrial Maintenance Mechanic reports to the Chief Engineer and may provide technical guidance to less-experienced maintenance personnel. This is an industrial equipment maintenance position—not a facilities/building maintenance position. 

Job Description:

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial production and processing equipment in accordance with established PM schedules and equipment requirements. 
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, boilers/steam systems, VFDs, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, and industrial electrical/control systems. 
• Perform systematic troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. 
• Perform basic repairs on non-mechanical equipment, as required. 
• Update equipment records on all maintenance performed in the CMMS. 
• Maintain the current inventory of spare parts, as required. 
• Maintain and record daily utility consumption. 
• Safely operate scissor lifts, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. 
• Ability to use basic hand tools, safely. 
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process and support equipment within the facility. 
• Provide limited support for general facility maintenance as operational needs require; primary responsibility remains industrial production equipment maintenance and repair. 
• Safely performs basic machining operations, as required. 
• Serve as the senior maintenance representative in the Chief Engineer's absence, as assigned, and support facility closing responsibilities when working second shift. 
• Comply with all company policies and procedures. 
• Must maintain regular attendance. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Desired)
• Associates Degree or Professional License (Preferred)

Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures – Required 
• Preventive Maintenance: (Required). 
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, motor controls, sensors, relays, contactors and VFDs – (Preferred). 
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment using I/O status, fault codes and machine diagnostics – (Preferred). 
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and equipment manuals – (Required). 
• Laundry services industry experience (Preferred). 
• Experience in basic welding. 
• Basic knowledge of mechanical fabrication. 
• Proficient in English in both written and oral.  

Physical:

• Able to stand for long periods at a time
• Carrying tools and equipment of up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Constant exposure to hazards including confined spaces, chemicals, steam under pressure, climbing, working in positions above and under equipment and throughout and outside of the facility
• Exposure to reasonable noise level, changes in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
