Red Team Associate Security Engineer (AI/ML)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in public cloud concepts, with advanced hands-on experience using cloud-native AI services such as Bedrock.
• Experience with threat modeling, security discovery, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing, including frameworks such as MITRE ATLAS and OWASP Top 10 for LLMs; knowledge of IAM, authentication, OIDC, and SAML.
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and trends, and foundational knowledge of AI red teaming for designing and implementing exercises across complex AI architectures.
• Ability to develop, validate, and communicate creative technical solutions to enterprise security challenges, including internal tools, dashboards, and red teaming automation.
• Preferred: Expertise planning and implementing AI red teaming exercises and enterprise security solutions for generative AI, LLMs, and ML systems.
• Preferred: Experience with AI security and red teaming tools or frameworks such as PyRIT, Garak, and custom LLM evaluation harnesses, or contributions to AI security and open-source security projects.

• Develop and improve security strategies, red teaming programs, and solution designs; troubleshoot technical issues and build scalable solutions.
• Design secure, high-quality AI and software architectures, reviewing and challenging designs and code to strengthen resilience against adversarial attacks.
• Reduce AI and LLM security vulnerabilities by applying industry standards and emerging AI safety research, and refining policies, testing protocols, and controls.
• Work with product, data science, cybersecurity, legal, and risk stakeholders to understand AI use cases and recommend changes in response to heightened vulnerabilities or regulatory shifts.
• Perform discovery, threat modeling, and adversarial testing of generative AI, RAG pipelines, and ML systems to identify issues such as prompt injection, jailbreaking, and data poisoning.
• Advise on secure design, logging, monitoring, and compensating controls for AI applications and platforms.
• Establish AI red teaming methods, playbooks, and success measures, and create processes for continuous testing and safe deployment of new AI models and features.
• Partner with platform and cloud security teams to secure infrastructure configurations and align them with enterprise security architecture.
• Engage external researchers, vendors, and standards organizations to follow emerging AI threats and bring best practices into our organization.
• Promote a team environment grounded in diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Build cross-functional relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and align teams on AI risk tolerance and mitigation priorities.
