POSITION SUMMARY:

The Center Manager I is responsible for managing small or mini- site operations, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, quality patient care, and staff supervision. This role focuses on maintaining compliance, optimizing workflows, and supporting CMC's mission, values, and strategic goals.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Personnel Management & Staff Training:
• Leads the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention of clinic staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations, staff coaching, and disciplinary actions in alignment with HR policies.
• Coordinates and supervises daily activities of front-office and back-office teams to ensure efficiency.
• Provide direct supervision to clinical support staff in collaboration with the CNO and nursing leadership to ensure quality and staff competencies.
• Manages staff time and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage; proactively addresses time-off requests, adjustments, and unexpected absences
• Fosters a positive work environment by implementing strategies to enhance employee morale, engagement, and motivation.
• Ensures staff clearly understand their roles, performance expectations, and have access to the necessary resources for success.
• Operations & Compliance:
• Manages small or mini-site operations, including intermittent clinics, ensuring optimal patient flow.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, licensing, and accreditation standards.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
• Oversees ordering and inventory processes for all site supplies.
• Participates in audits and implements corrective action plans as needed.
• Financial & Profitability Management:
• Works within set budgets and cost-containment initiatives.
• Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and site profitability.
• Tracks expenses and ensures appropriate resource allocation.
• Quality & Data-Driven Performance:
• Supports quality improvement initiatives and ensures adherence to patient-centered care principles.
• Accountable for and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) using HIT programs and EHR systems to improve operational efficiency, quality, and patient access.
• Oversees patient satisfaction initiatives, access-to-care improvements, and workflow redesigns.
• Other Responsibilities:
• Coordinates with clinical and nursing leadership, providers, and administration to optimize service integration and process improvement initiatives.
• Attends meetings, participates in training, and takes on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• HS diploma/GED with at least 3 years of progressive supervisory experience in healthcare OR AA Degree with 1 year of supervisory experience in healthcare.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Foundational leadership experience in healthcare settings.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple sites is required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Prior dental experience is preferred for positions supporting a dental clinic.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong understanding of ambulatory care operations, CPT/ICD-9 coding, and familiarity with Medi-Cal, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing procedures.
• Proficiency in EHR systems, HIT programs, and other electronic healthcare management tools.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make decisions with discretion.
• Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures related to patient care.
• Awareness of workplace safety standards, common hazards, and preventive measures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Ability to remain calm and take decisive action in emergency situations.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Required corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an office environment within a clinic setting. Involves frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with upset people.
