Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days, 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity Cardiac/Renal Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit (41 beds) with a patient population including Afib with RVR, atrial flutter, heart blocks, CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA, post-ablation, and dialysis patients
• Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation; travelers will be required to pass telemetry competency testing
• Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, aminophylline, Cardizem, Tikosyn, and Amiodarone
• Manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, and PIV insertion
• Float within skillset to alternate campuses with a minimum of 2-hour notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
• May be required to precept students and new hires as this is a teaching facility

Required Qualifications

• Current, active multistate compact RN license
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience; at least 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage high-acuity and rapidly changing patient conditions
• Experience initiating and managing complex drip protocols in a cardiac or telemetry setting
• Adaptable, resilient, and collaborative with strong interpersonal skills suited for a team-oriented unit
