Marketing & Communications Department Part Time Student Worker

The Marketing & Communications Department is recruiting for two part time Student Workers for the Fall 2026 semester. This position is responsible for assisting the Printing & Mailroom Services Coordinator and Assistant in providing printing, mailroom, and delivery services to the campus community.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Completes a daily morning route to deliver and pick up interoffice mail, USPS mail, packages, print jobs, and items to be shredded to offices at VC's Main Campus
• Assists with receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
• Assists with performing office duties such as answering phones and checking emails
• Assists in creating desk name plates and office door slide-in signs using the engraving machine and installing campus vinyl signage
• Assists in processing print requests and operating printers, copiers, folding, binding, and laminating machines and sign-making equipment
• Uses word processing and desktop publishing software to print a variety of materials for internal and external clients
• Assists with posting and removing signage on campus doors
• Demonstrates personalized customer service of the highest level
• Maintains confidentiality of information
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in the fall and spring, and 3 credit hours in the summer. To continue employment during the summer session, you must be enrolled in the interim or summer 1 session
• Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), including developmental courses
• English proficiency
• Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
• Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
• Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as stand, walk, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel and climb stairs. The employee will periodically lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The employee must be able to perform job duties under all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
