Charge Nurse (RN)- 4S Acute Care- Surgery-FT- Days

Job Summary Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care. The RN serves as the front‑line representative of the patient care team, often serving as the intermediary between the patient, family, provider(s), and other care team members. This role involves participating in performance improvement initiatives, maintaining professional competence, developing others, upholding confidentiality and safety standards, and supporting Shared Governance through service on councils or sponsored activities. Location: Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. Hours: Full Time, Days, 36 hours per week (3/12s). Sign‑on bonus available. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Patient Care and Care Coordination: monitors, examines, and evaluates patient conditions; assists with care plans, takes appropriate actions to promote short/long‑term outcomes, delivers care as outlined, applies independent judgment, collaborates and communicates care plans with other staff, prioritizes and coordinates daily patient flow and experience, delivers safe and effective care, and maintains thorough documentation. Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: listens to concerns, probes in depth, responds to patient needs, serves as an educational resource, communicates necessary information, and emphasizes patient‑ and family‑centered care to maintain satisfaction. Performance Improvement: seeks opportunities to improve the work environment and processes, contributes ideas, supports and contributes to improvement initiatives aimed at better patient quality outcomes, satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and financial performance. Professional Competency and Growth: maintains professional licenses and certifications, completes required training, identifies training opportunities, stays current with research and best practices, and seeks professional growth and leadership development. Professional Leadership: mentors and precept, fosters a positive and supportive work environment, adheres to confidentiality, safety, and professional standards, acts with professionalism, embraces shared governance, demonstrates integrity, holds self and others accountable, promotes the nursing profession, and assists with recruitment. Other duties as assigned; complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred). Required Minimum Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support – Instructor (BLS‑I) or Basic Life Support (BLS) or ARC‑BLS — American Red Cross Basic Life Support.
